Senior Researcher Positions (Professorial Level) in Theoretical and Mathematical Physics

ITMP invites applications for senior researcher (professorial level) positions in Theoretical and Mathematical Physics starting in autumn 2026.

In addition to research the duties include teaching at master and PhD level (around 2-3 semester lecture courses a year) as well as supervising research students.

Applicants should have PhD in theoretical or mathematical physics and a track record of active research at international level. Fluent English is a requirement.

The starting salary will be 310-320 thousand rubles per month (after tax) and its level may be negotiated depending on qualifications. Funding for research related expenses of 300 thousand roubles per year will also be available. The position is initially for 5 years with possible extension subject to performance and availability of funding.  ITMP provides a relocation allowance, health insurance and administrative support.
