My research interest revolves around K-theory, index theory, C*-algebras and mathematical physics.
In particular, my research is on Wannier functions and topological insulators. Together with Evgenij Troitsky, we introduced Wannier functions rigorously to the mathematical model of topological insulators. Moreover, we generalized the concept of the index of C*-subalgebras and the theory of index for subfactors to give a new criterion for judgement of topological insulators.
At the moment, I am studying the gauge equivariant K-theory, the generalization of the index theorem and their relation to the M-theory.
