My research interests are concerned with the multidimensional modifications of the theory of gravity and the properties of gravitational radiation from merging binary systems within the framework of such theories. The motivation for the study of this problem is the active development of gravitational-wave astronomy, which provides one of the most promising methods for finding additional dimensions of space-time and studying their characteristics. An important feature of multidimensional theories is the different behaviour of the retarded fields in the space-time of even and odd dimensions: in the last case, the massless retarded field propagates in space not only with the speed of light but also with all velocities less than the speed of light, what leads to the existence of the tail part of radiation in odd dimensions. This is due to the fact, that in odd dimensions massless retarded Green's functions are localized not only on the light cone of the source but also inside it. As a result, the standard definition of the wave zone is not applicable to the problems of calculation of radiation in odd dimensions. However, together with my scientific supervisor, we demonstrated the applicability of Rohrlich-Teitelboim's definition of radiation to the calculations of radiation in odd-dimensional space-time.
